What browsable records about a visit, what an account keeps, who holds it and how to have it removed.
Analytics
On a first visit browsable asks whether it may use analytics. Until you answer, nothing about your visit is recorded and no cookie is set.
There are two choices, each off until you turn it on. Analytics: a cookie keeps your visits together, and pages and clicks are recorded; Google Analytics also counts the visit, with its own cookie, and loads only then. Recordings: a replay of the visit. What you type is hidden, an email address on the page is hidden, and a recording is never tied to an account. “Accept all” turns both on.
If you choose “Necessary only”: the visit is still counted, in a way that stores nothing on your device and names nobody. There is no replay.
Three small notes are kept in your browser and sent nowhere: that the opening explanation has been shown, your answer about analytics, and whether recordings are on.
A browser that sends “do not track” is not recorded at all. You can change your answer at any time.
Searches
A search is sent to browsable's server to find results. It is not tied to a person. A search from an AI tool is handled the same way.
An account
An account is optional. It keeps your email address, your bookmarks, the libraries and makers you chose to hide, and whether you asked for emails. Signing in with Google also passes on the name and picture of your Google account.
Signing in sets cookies that keep you signed in and check that a person is signing up. They are set only once you press Sign in.
Emails are sent only if you tick the box, a few times a year. The box can be unticked in your account at any time.

Bookmarks are kept under an account number, not under your email address. Fonts are served from this site.
What is not done
No advertising, no selling of data, no following you to other sites.
Library authors
browsable hosts no code, only a name, a short description, a preview and a link back to the library. More for library authors.
